Is it bad or good to give away a lot of stuff for free?
By that I mean, doing free trainings, free coaching, free resources?
Will you be discounting your worth when you give out free stuff?
Will you attract ‘freebie seekers’ that will never pay?
If I give too much away, won’t it be hard for me to charge people?
Won’t I be giving away all of my secrets?
In my experience: “the more I give away, the more that comes my way”.
If you know me I’m a nerd about abundance and any worries about giving aways stuff for free comes from a scarcity mindset, let’s blow up some of these limiting beliefs:
Freebie seekers – yes, there are those people who will resist paying for anything. But why should I not try to help them? The truth is, the people who are unwilling to pay for anything end up hurting themselves the most because they try to figure out everything on their own....
The other day, one of my podcast listeners sent me this message:
Simon, how long did it take you to get used to cold showers?
You encouraged me to try them.
And what did you experience?
I REALLY had to step out of my comfort zone for this one. I’m addicted to burning hot water. And that’s a really bad habit.
So, what are the benefits? How have you benefited from them?
So far, I find that they wake me up.
I thought this would be a great topic for my podcast, it’s something that I talk about all the time when I discuss my morning routine but I realized that I had never actually done a podcast episode on the power of cold showers.
In this episode called “Do THIS for 3 Minutes A Day to Strengthen Your Mind & Body” I talk about the benefits of cold showers.
There are 7 benefits that I list and I go into detail on this 20 minute episode and if you aren’t already doing them, give...
Limitless. Unstoppable. Absolutely Unchained.
To become so, you don't need to add much, but you do need to let go of anything that is filtering you, holding you back, watering you down.
Forward motion isn't always about stepping on the gas, but letting go of what is weight you down. Become like a Ferrari, become more aerodynamic and slice through the wind.
The processing power of your mind is absolutely incredible, you literally have a super computer between your two ears.
Did you ever see the movie Limitless with Bradley Cooper?
It was about a guy who was 'just getting by' day to day, struggling and not thriving.
He comes across an experimental drug that allows him to unlock the 90% of his mind that he wasn't using.
He becomes smarter, more mentally agile, thinking out of the box, seeing opportunities that he didn't see before.
What would it be like if you could tap into a higher level of your mindset and do the same?
That power inside of your mind is there for you, on...
They call her the Business Savage.
They said everything was handed to her.
They said it was because of her looks.
“Nothing’s been handed to me in my entire life.
It’s easy for people on the outside to look in and see these shiny things or what I’ve accomplished.
But they don’t know what I’ve been through.
They don’t know about the Lawsuits.
They don’t know I’ve been through Labor Board Claims.
Being cut from hockey teams (yes, she was a hockey player).
They don’t know the amount of debt I had to go into to get to the places I was at.
But I had a resiliency that I would never, ever, ever give up.”
“I don’t care how many doors are slammed in my face, or how many people try to knock me down.
As long as I have a heartbeat, I always will get back up.”
That is what a Business Savage is all...
March 15th 2020, we all remember that timeframe when the world shut down and many of us had to pivot. Some of us had our careers completely wiped out.
For Julie Hruska, she would teach her last 'in person' class on this day, then shut down her studio 6 years prior to her existing plans.
Julie then made her pivot, she declared what she wanted to do, which was expand in a time of contraction. Then it started, full send on getting active on LinkedIn, creating content, getting active on video, networking.
Julie posted this on her LinkedIn page recently:
"2 years ago, when the world locked down, I faced the dark unknown.
As a single mother of 3 and an entrepreneur, I had to pivot quickly to keep the lights on and food on our table. It sounds dramatic, because it was.
I knew that if I didn’t quickly shift to a virtual model for my business, my coaching company wouldn’t survive and my children would suffer.
The pivot was fast, but I was committed.
There was a steep learning...
I remember when I was a kid, my grandfather used to always tell me:
"You've got to work hard, you've got to go to school and get a degree, then you can succeed".
When I was younger I used to love school, but then around high school I started hating it, and by the time college came around, I knew that I didn't want to pay crazy amounts of money to do something that I hated.
Without me realizing it, it became a battle of 'going to school to succeed' or 'having an average life'.
I didn't want school, so I resigned myself to living an average life.
By sheer chance, I got the opportunity to scrape dishes as a bus boy at the Country Club and be around very successful people that made it look easy.
But for me, I still had years of ups and downs before it started to feel easy, because my belief system was that it needed to be hard.
The crazy thing is I was programmed that success NEEDs to be hard.
How many of us have been told through our entire life: 'you've got to work hard for success'?
Are you thinking "Simon, why the hell are you saying that coaching is a waste of money? Don't you support coaches and don't you coach"?
I didn't say that coaching was a waste of money.
I said spending money on coaching was a waste of money.
The definition of spending is: to use up, to consume wastefully, to squander.
Unfortunately the truth is a lot of people look at hiring a coach as spending, and even worse, they act like it.
They say that only 3% of digital courses (without a live component) are completed.
Far too few people even give themselves the gift of coaching or learning after they leave school.
Then there are those that do decide to further their knowledge and buy a course but either don't finish (gain the knowledge) or don't take action with the knowledge in order to gain results.
The equation for massive success is: knowledge + action - overthink = incredible results.
There are a few people, the elite, who INVEST in coaching.

She had a good upbringing in a strong and supportive family but found herself overweight, addicted to drugs, pregnant without knowing who the father is, then into an abusive relationship, then many other battles.
At her darkest moment, she made a change and asked for guidance from her higher power to give her the strength to change things around. She made...

On this episode of Mindset Hackers, I chat with Former Wall Street Lawyer, now an Executive Coach Hana Dhanji and we talk about the trappings of 'chasing success', the dopamine treadmill, and how to get off.
So many of us high performers try to control outcomes yet we miss out on the signs that the Universe is leaving right in front of us. We are always in a constant state of evolution and therefore what we know or can see at any given point, doesn't always give us the answers we need, but we need to trust that it will come into focus.
Hana has also been on the treadmill of success in her own path and she shares her backstory with us of chasing to become a Wall Street Lawyer and work in some of the biggest cities such as New York and Dubai, but realized that she was out of alignment.
